Final Thoughts for your Scotland Fields Wedding

Scotland Fields is the kind of venue that feels effortlessly timeless. It’s not just about the scenery (though, trust us, the tidal marsh at sunset is unreal)—it’s about how well the space works for a wedding. The venue gives couples a full weekend to settle in and celebrate, offers a mix of rustic charm and modern elegance, and provides multiple options for how the day unfolds.

Rehearsal Dinner at a Local Restaurant

Maine has one of the best food scenes in the entire country, and if you want to show your guests a complete wedding experience, consider one of the restaurants we mentioned above for your rehearsal dinner. From seafood, to local farm fresh ingredients, southern Maine has plenty of options!

Hire a Great Wedding Planner

Hiring a great wedding planner is critical to your day, especially when you are hiring multiple top level vendors! Here are some of our favorite planners in the Southern Maine/Seacoast area:

Watch Out for the Catering Tent Placement

One important detail to consider is the catering tent placement. While the venue has a dedicated catering tent space, it’s crucial to ensure it doesn’t block the view of the river behind the ceremony tent. The backdrop of the York River and marshlands is one of the most stunning features of Scotland Fields, and keeping it open for photos and guest experience is key. Thoughtful planning with the venue team and catering staff will make sure everything flows seamlessly while preserving those panoramic views.

HAVE FUN!

We know it sounds silly, but the most important thing you can do on your wedding day is have fun. You’ve hired vendors you can trust, let them work at their craft so you can enjoy the best day yet. Josie and I prioritize our couples enjoying themselves on wedding day, because it’s supposed to be a party with your closest friends and family! At the end of the day, Scotland Fields delivers a wedding experience that’s private, immersive, and visually stunning. For couples looking for a venue that feels like an intimate retreat while still offering plenty of space to celebrate, this one’s hard to beat.
