Migis Lodge Weddings | A Private Lakeside Escape | Venue Guide
Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake offers a wedding experience that feels both effortlessly elegant and deeply personal. Nestled among towering pines on the shores of one of Maine’s most stunning lakes, this private resort is designed for couples who want a refined yet relaxed celebration—where exceptional service, natural beauty, and understated luxury come together seamlessly.
From the moment you arrive, there’s an undeniable sense of exclusivity. Guests are welcomed into a world where the pace slows, the views take center stage, and every detail is thoughtfully curated. Exchange vows overlooking the water, host an intimate cocktail hour on the lodge’s expansive lawn, and dance the night away in the classic, timber-framed Main Lodge. With exclusive access to the entire property, your wedding feels less like an event and more like a weekend retreat—one where your closest friends and family can truly connect and celebrate.
Migis Lodge blends the warmth of a Maine getaway with the polish of a high-end venue. If your vision includes a destination-style wedding without the hassle of travel, impeccable hospitality, and a setting that’s as serene as it is breathtaking, this is the place.

What We Love About Migis Lodge as a Wedding Venue
Josie and I love the effortless blend of natural beauty and classic New England charm that Migis Lodge offers. Set on the shores of Sebago Lake, this venue gives us the perfect mix of stunning waterfront views, lush forest backdrops, and warm, rustic elegance—a dream for both photography and film. The Main Lodge, with its timber beams, stone fireplace, and soft, glowing light, creates an inviting space that feels both intimate and refined. We especially love how the lakefront ceremony site offers a sweeping, unobstructed view of the water, making every moment feel cinematic. Topping it off with a boat ride after your ceremony solidifies Migis as a lakefront paradise.
Migis Lodge is the kind of place where everything just flows. The exclusivity of the property means couples and their guests can truly settle in, relax, and be present, which translates into candid, emotional, and deeply personal moments that we love to capture. And from a practical standpoint? The staff is phenomenal—attentive, organized, and always making sure the day runs seamlessly.

Why Couples Love Migis Lodge for their Wedding
A Private, Weekend-Long Celebration
Migis Lodge isn’t just a wedding venue—it’s a full experience. With exclusive use of the property, couples get to turn their wedding into a full weekend getaway with their closest friends and family. Guests can settle in, unplug, and truly enjoy every moment without feeling rushed.
Unbeatable Lakeside Setting
The views at Migis Lodge are nothing short of spectacular. Saying “I do” with Sebago Lake as your backdrop, arriving at your ceremony by boat, and capturing golden hour portraits by the water? It doesn’t get more picturesque than this. Every part of the property is a dream for photography and film.

Refined Yet Relaxed Atmosphere
Migis Lodge strikes the perfect balance between polished and laid-back. It has the warmth of a Maine lakeside retreat with the elevated service and attention to detail of a high-end wedding venue. Couples love how the space feels intimate, natural, and inviting while still being effortlessly elegant. It feels like a summer camp with your closest friends and family; campfires by the lake, lawn games as the sun goes down, and quiet nights under the stars. Migis is the perfect weekend-long destination.
Seamless Guest Experience
Since the lodge offers accommodations for guests, no one has to worry about driving or logistics. Everything—ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and even late-night lakeside bonfires—happens in one stunning location. It’s the kind of wedding where guests can fully relax and soak in the experience.
Exceptional Service from Start to Finish
The team at Migis Lodge is top-tier. From planning details to executing a flawless wedding day, they make sure everything runs smoothly so couples can focus on what matters—celebrating. Their hospitality and attention to detail are a huge reason why so many couples rave about their experience.
Our Favorite Venue Feature
The seclusion of Migis Lodge is hard to beat. While the wedding that Josie and I photographed and filmed had to move their ceremony up by the lodge because of rain, the ceremony space by the lake is beautiful, as well as the lawn they have for tented receptions outside. With weddings only sitting on the fringe months, the weather hopefully won’t get too hot, and you’ll still be able to enjoy the beautiful spring and fall months there for your Migis Lodge Wedding.

Final Thoughts for your Migis Lodge Wedding
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that offers natural beauty, exclusivity, and a seamless guest experience, Migis Lodge is hard to beat. It’s more than just a place to get married—it’s a private, weekend-long retreat where you and your guests can truly relax, celebrate, and create lasting memories. From lakeside vows and golden hour portraits to an intimate reception in the warm, inviting lodge, every moment feels effortless and unforgettable. With top-tier service, breathtaking scenery, and a setting that feels both elevated and deeply personal, Migis Lodge delivers an experience unlike any other. If you want a wedding that’s not just an event, but an experience, this is the place to make it happen.
Use the Property to Your Advantage
Migis Lodge is spread out along the coast of Sebago Lake, which means there is a lot of waterfront property to take advantage of. With a large marina, saunas, tennis courts, and gym, there is plenty to do on the property for your wedding weekend.

Our Favorite Wedding Planners in Maine
A wedding planner at Migis Lodge ensures the entire weekend-long celebration runs seamlessly, from guest arrivals to farewell brunch. They handle logistics like boat arrivals, weather contingencies, and vendor coordination, while also curating a design that enhances the lodge’s natural beauty. With a planner managing the timeline, transitions, and last-minute details, couples can fully enjoy their wedding without stress. At a venue as immersive as Migis, a planner isn’t just helpful—they’re essential. Here are some of our favorites:

Kara Patten Events

Sunset Over the Lake
Knowing the sunset time is crucial for planning a wedding day timeline, especially at a venue like Migis Lodge, where the natural setting plays a huge role in the overall atmosphere. The golden hour—the window just before sunset—offers the most flattering, soft, and warm natural light for portraits, making it the perfect time for couple’s photos. The sun actually sets over the lake, so heading down by the Petunia Terrace is a great spot for sunset photos.
Like to Golf?
One of my (Dawson’s) favorite things to do outside of photographing and filming weddings is play golf. Migis Lodge is just minutes from one of my favorite courses in Maine, Point Sebago Golf Club. Take some time to get out and enjoy the course, whether with a large group or just the two of you for a wedding weekend date night!
THESE MEMORIES LAST A lifetime.
